Since 1986, Urban Journalism Workshop teaches local high school students interested in pursuing careers in media, the fundamentals of journalism through interactive lectures, hands-on training and field trips.  Professional journalists and educators from The New York Times, The Associated Press, ESPN, SiriusXM, and more lead these students through mentorship during this eight-week program.  UJW happens early March through late April 2025.  Applications are closed. We encourage all DMV area-based students to apply by January 2026.
