Since 1986, Urban Journalism Workshop teaches local high school students interested in pursuing careers in media, the fundamentals of journalism through interactive lectures, hands-on training and field trips. Professional journalists and educators from The New York Times, The Associated Press, ESPN, SiriusXM, and more lead these students through mentorship during this eight-week program. UJW happens early March through late April 2025.

We're committed to working together to address the critical issue of media bias in missing persons cases involving people of color. Our mission is to create a comprehensive media guide that will help change the way newsrooms report on missing persons cases.
