Prince George’s Community Television

Prince George’s County Council found a way to preserve funding for Prince George’s Community Television (PGCTV), in what amounts to a massive win for the community, CTV staff and WABJ! Initially, a county proposal aimed to cut $693,000 to CTV, which would have ultimately led to layoffs and dissolution of its news division. In April, WABJ President Phil Lewis testified before the Prince George’s County Council about the importance of PGCTV and why funding needed to be restored. WABJ also helped promote the “Save CTV” petition, which reached more than 400 signatures.
