Join the NYU John Brademas Center for a conversation with award-winning biographer Ray E. Boomhower on his new book, Wallace Terry: A Reporter’s Journey from Selma to Saigon to Bloods. The discussion will explore the remarkable life and legacy of Wallace Terry, one of the first Black national correspondents in mainstream American media, whose reporting shaped public understanding of both the Civil Rights Movement and the Vietnam War.

Drawing from the first full-length biography of Terry, Boomhower will examine Terry’s fearless reporting on pivotal moments in American history, from the Birmingham campaign, the March on Washington, and the Selma to Montgomery marches to the front lines of Vietnam. The conversation will also highlight Terry’s groundbreaking oral history, Bloods: An Oral History of the Vietnam War by Black Veterans, and his enduring impact on journalism, civil rights, and the historical record.
