Urban Journalism Workshop
Professional journalists and educators from The New York Times, The Associated Press, ESPN, SiriusXM, and more lead these students through mentorship during this eight-week program. UJW happens early March through late April 2025. Applications are closed. We encourage all DMV area-based students to apply by January 2026.

Since 1986, Urban Journalism Workshop teaches local high school students interested in pursuing careers in media, the fundamentals of journalism through interactive lectures, hands-on training and field trips. Professional journalists and educators from The New York Times, The Associated Press, ESPN, SiriusXM, and more lead these students through mentorship during this eight-week program. UJW happens early March through late April 2025.
